Why see Dangerous Liasons?
Love Is A Weapon
This summer, the Stratford Festival Theatre will play host to Christopher Hampton's rendition of Dangerous Liaisons. Adapted from Pierre Choderlos de Laclos's 1782 novel, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, the work first premiered in England's Stratford-upon-Avon, and made its way around the world, from Broadway to Sydney, Australia, and beyond. Esther Jun will lead the production as director, with Celia Aloma and Jesse Gervais among the lead roles. A scandalous play of seduction and deception!
What's It About?
The Vicomte de Valmont and the Marquise de Merteuil toil in the boredom of their privileged lives. Together they scheme to cause havoc among others, using their rivalry to draw the games ever higher, using sex and manipulation as key tactics in their cruel competition.
